my Christmas night

Hello! I’ll talk about my Christmas night. Every year I spent this holiday with my family and this year there wasn’t an exception, so with my mom, dad, brother, grandma and sister in law had a delicious dinner in my house. We eat turkey and potatoes and some sauces of mushroom and olive. Also, we had some salads like palm heart with lettuce, carrot with peanuts and tomatoes. But before the dinner, we drank a toast for our family and our grandfather who died the past year. That was with punch, with my own grandfather recipe, and this is a tradition in my family for every date we have to celebrate. After that, my dad opened a bottle of wine to drink with the dinner (all the people in my house, except my brother, drank wine with an important dinner, like a birthday so we did it for Christmas too). After the supper, we eat some ice cream with chocolates and then my father, my brother and I went out in the car. That’s another tradition, wait for Santa coming to my home (jajajajaja!) and when we arrived home, we opened our presents, we said thank you to everyone of us, and that was all for me, because I was very tired and I went to bed :P It was a beautiful night anyway!

rocas de Santo Domingo!

Hello! First of all, I have to say that I love to go to the beach, because I enjoy the sun, the sand and obviously the water, cold or not cold, but I like to see the sea and the waves, and I especially like them when there is foam.
My favorite beach is Santo Domingo, in the V Region of Chile. It’s very near from Santiago (about an hour and a half) and I visit this beach since I have memory, because our family beach-house is very near from there in Llolleo. I like Santo Domingo because is a big beach, vast, with black sand and big waves, but sometimes it’s not comfortable that black sand, because is fine and stays in your body even when you are swimming in the sea. Well, but the most important is that you don’t have to step the head of somebody, or a towel, or when you are walking, no body hits you with a ball or a beach tennis! You can have peace and relax, read a book or may be listen to the sound of the waves! Also, Santo Domingo has big waves and you can play sports like bodyboard or surf (if you know how to do it, because there aren’t schools). And if you want walk, you can trek between the rocks and the shoreline, because the beach is very extensive! The only problem is that the waves are sometimes violent and they can pull you down or fall, but if you are responsible, nobody gets hurt :)

run away!

I like outdoors activities because I love enjoy nature and the wind, rain, sun, etc. When I was a little girl I used to ride bike in a park near to my home. I visited it with my friends and sometimes with my dad, he enjoy riding bike as me. But now, I really enjoy running in parks and paths! I like it because it’s very easy to do; you just need a comfortable outfit and good trainers. Obviously, there are clothes specially made for this activity, but I think that is not really necessary. I love running because it’s so simple, it’s just about you and how you can resist more and more every time. I started to do it just a couple months ago, and in the beginning I was a disaster, I run about 200mt and then I was tired, and my legs after that were totally hurt, but I try to forget that pain and after two days I run again and it wasn’t too much painful. Now, I run about 3 times for week and I can resist about 5km and I really hope to improve that mark and get  10km, that my goal for now J

a beautiful song from the past :)

First, I have to say that my childhood was very pretty, I grown in a full of love family and we always have been a good music lovers, but, when I read the tittle of this blog, automatically a song comes to my mind. This song is “Loco” from Los Auténticos Decadentes, an Argentinian band formed in the middle of the eighties. The song is about a man in love who says that he was crazy about a woman, with her defects and virtues. The reason of this choice is that every time this song was played in my house, I ran to my mom’s arms, asked her to pull me up, and I danced with her until the song was ending. The true is that I don’t remember that, because I was 3 or 4 years old, but is very strange, when I hear the song now, I feel something inside of me, an inexplicable feeling, and obviously, my family remember me that and I look for my mom and dance with her. It’s very nice. Today, I still loving the song, and my family does it too, in fact, two weeks ago my father put a DVD from Los Auténticos Decadentes while we were having lunch on Sunday, and we eat, sing and dance Loco again!

This is my song from the past!

one on one with Gabriel García Márquez

Hi there! Today I will talk about Gabriel García Márquez, my absolute favorite writer. As I say before, he is a writer, novelist, storyteller, scriptwriter and journalist from Colombia, born on March 6 from 1927. García Márquez is famous all over the world as one of the most important writers from Latinoamerica, especially because he won the Nobel Prize of Poetry in 1982, principally because his book “Cien Años de Soledad”. This, also, is the most representative work about Magical Realism, a genre developed in Latinoamerica since 1947, and read a beautiful speech about the situation here in that time, expressing, also, his political thoughts.

For me, this writer is the best writer ever seen!. I love read his books and imagine in my mind all the things he says in his stories and obviously the way he write them, and makes me feel happy that an artist like him had the opportunity to express and put the Latinoamerican literature in a special place in the world. I think that is very difficult choose only 3 questions; actually, I would like to talk him free, for hours and days! But a supposed that the first questions could be:

What were you thinking when you wrote “100 Años de Soledad”?
How did you get the names of characters and places?
What do you think about the actual situation of Latinoamerica?
Would you write a novel about the student’s demonstrations in Chile?

That's all folks!

the best mixture: a memorable journey!

There are a lot of activities that I really like to do: my favorite is dancing, but the next one could perfectly be travelling, in Chile or out, that it’s not important, but it’s very difficult decide which is the most important, because everyone has been special in their own ways. So I decide to choose a journey to Valdivia the last year, with my classmates in Geography. I remember that at first I wasn’t on the list, because I had problems with a subject, but in the end, the teacher said there was no problem, and the reason was that the purpose of this trip was the World and National Congress of Geography. So, on a Monday, after a class that finished at 18:15 pm, I and other 18 classmates run to our homes to get our luggage, because our tickets were for three hours later. We arrived to Valdivia about 9 in the morning, and we had to walk in the rain in the streets of that beautiful city, it was very cold, but the sun appeared between the clouds for a while, and then, cloudy again. So, we went to the Austral University of Chile, in a place called Teja Island, we arrived there after we crossed the Calle Calle River. In the place, we inscribed and we received our credentials, and then, we looked for a place to sleep. We found a nice camping and some hours later we were at the conference again. It is important because it was a very beautiful experience spend time with my classmates for five days  and have a lot of fun with them, we sing, we dance, we cook, and the last day we visited Niebla, some beaches  and the bus that we took wasn't working good, so we had to push it (that was very funny), after that we bought some presents for our families and we drank delicious beer at Kunstmann factory. We learned and we had fun… This is the best mixture for a student, isn’t it?

♂ & ♀

Are differences between man and women? Of course they are. I am a woman and I know that this it's true, since we are babies: the girl wears pink, the boy wears blue. But, in general, the problem is bigger than the color we use, it's a cultural problem. That is really sick!. If we think that the difference is the body, I really think that all of us have different bodies, I mean, between women and between men, so, that it's not enough. I think that we all are persons and we must have, as a man or as a woman, the same opportunities to develop as we believe is right. For now, in our country, this is becoming true: every day we can see more men cooking and cleaning his house, and also, women are doing man's work in politics, economics and even in tasks as building. It’s time to open our eyes and accept this new reality: woman doesn’t stay at home and man is not alone in bringing money to the house. The important it’s know that we are people, and we need to complement each other to make of this a new better world, with pink and blue.

What about Christmas?

On december 25 people in all countries celebrate Christmas and people lives the stress of buy presents for family and friends, but, what is the real meaning of this day?.

The true is that Christmas is a catholic celebration, because this is the birthdate of Jesus, son of Mary and Joseph and well, we know the rest of that story. So, what is the relation with buy things for our dearest people?. We can find the answer if we remember The Three Kings from the East that arrived when they knew that Jesus was going to born. Their names were Melchior, Caspar and Balthasar, and they gave him gold, frankincense and myrrh, trying to say thanks because the thought that Jesus will save them and all the people in the world. So, by this date, we do the same thing that the Three Kings from the East, with the only difference that it’s true that we commemorate the birth of Jesus, but our presents aren’t for Jesus, they are for our family, friends, or the people that the choose for that. The problem is that people turns crazy the days before Christmas, buying everything in stores and, turning this day in a merchandising day.

Now that we know how Christmas works in our globalized society, it’s our  responsibility choose a side or at least have an opinion about this topic, I mean, do we really remember  Jesus in Christmas? Or we are just worried about the dinner and our presents?  In my opinion, I think that it’s true that sometimes we forget the birth of Jesus, but also, in my opinion, we could do the same thing that Mary and Joseph that night, wait with our family reunited zero hours from December 25 and use this meeting to talk about us and our life family. So, Christmas is the perfect day, for me, to live a beautiful night with the people that we love and we can express that feeling with a present.

MY 27F

To talk about my "27F", I need to explain some little things that happens on the "26F". I know that for much people the day before it's not important, but for me, it really is. Well, I remember that my mum was ill and we had to go to the doctor and she was very tired and feeling bad. So, we go to bed late, in fact, it was early morning of 27 of february, about 2:30 AM. Then, I turned on my television, so I stay awake until 3:00 AM or later. So I sleep something about 15 o 20 minutes and the earth began to move and I think: "It will stop", and I turn around I tried to sleep again, but it never stop. Then I think: "It will stop", and I turn around I tried to sleep again, but it never stopped and it was growing stronger. While, my television fell on the floor, as my thing on the closet and everything and I was thinking "This is not true, there's a earthquake here and I slept 20 minutes!!". So, when it stopped, my mum was in the door and she said to me: "Well, that's a earthquake, did you realize? jaja". That was all, we went downstairs and hug each other with mum and my grandma and we started to clean all the mess that the earthquake left in my home.
